Weddings are super joyous, but any event with moving parts has the possibility of being stressful. In my years coordinating weddings in Lubbock, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks to keeping the planning process and the wedding week as low-stress as possible.
Tip 1: Choose vendors that are professional and highly recommended
There is nothing worse than a vendor backing out at the last minute! Do not put yourself in a situation where you’re working with a vendor who is not professional. If they are difficult to communicate with when booking, or you find bad reviews… don’t book them! Find great vendors through your venue, your planner, or your photographer. You can also find excellent vendors on Facebook groups like Lubbock Wedding Vendors.
Tip 2: Utilize a physical planner or good spreadsheet for planning
Having a list to work off of brings so much calm to wedding planning. Almost every blog or wedding planning website has their own version, but I love the A Practical Wedding spreadsheets and physical planners best (link here). It is very helpful to have a list to work through so that you don’t forget anything (or have anxiety that you are forgetting something).
Tip 3: If your budget allows it, hire a planner or day-of coordinator!
I’m biased because I see how much stress I alleviate for my clients, but a wedding coordinator or planner (that comes highly recommended– remember that not all vendors are excellent) can bring you so much peace of mind. My lowest cost planning package is $750 so I hope I can fit most budgets! Learn more about my pricing and what’s included on my pricing page here.
Best of luck and wishing you a low-stress wedding planning journey!
